Ryerson Aims To Win Quidditch Championships.

School also competing in Gobstones final.

The Canadian Quidditch Championships will be held again this year after last year’s tournament was abruptly cancelled following a Dementor attack in the opening game.  Ryerson is the favourite to win it all and will also be travelling to New York next month to compete in the world championships.  ”That’s going to be a tough one,” said team co-captain Haley Pierce.  ”We’ll be facing off against teams from Harvard, Cambridge, and Durmstrang.”  Ms. Pierce was quick to defend her teams’ chances, though.  ”Our new Beaters, Peakes and Coote, might not have the old brilliance of our previous Beaters, but as a team we can compete with anyone.”

Suraj Singh, the team’s other co-captain, says he realizes that some people might laugh at idea of a Quidditch team but insists it’s really popular.  ”We may not bring in as many fans as, say, Toronto’s Lingerie Football team, but we definitely draw a much larger audience than the Argos.”

Mr. Singh also mentions that even though Quidditch practice takes up a lot of his time it’s not the only thing he’s involved in.  ”I’m also a member of the chess club, the debate team, and the Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare.”

He admits that a lot of people think the whole thing is ridiculous but adds “I’m in university, I’m going to be a grown-up soon.”

He might want to get a move on.

Just in case it’s not obvious, I’d like to point out that this article and all articles on this site are intended as satire.  All articles are fiction and fake news.
